Quinta da Bica
A young family intended to rehabilitate the Quinta da Bica house, a granite building situated in a valley of a rural area of Fornos de Algodres municipality, as a weekend refuge.
The house consisted in 2 floors and a garret, which worked independently from each other: the ground floor as living room, kitchen and dining area, the floor -1 as a cellar and the garret as storage.
The proposal focuses on preserving the integrity of the granite building and unifying the 3 floors, with the ground floor maintaining the social areas, the -1 incorporating the master bedroom and the garret as a room/office, which relates with the ground floor through a mezzanine.
