We were asked a renovation project of a traditional haystack, located in S.Felix, São Pedro do Sul, in order to readapt its use to other functions, particularly as short term housing.
The primordial guideline was based on the preservation of two aspects that strongly define the building, materiality and constructive method, which served as the thriving force for its resolution.
Thus, the granite walls, the wooden structure of the roof and ceramic shingles define its outer shell.
Given its reduced dimensions, it was avoided any subdivision of the building, either horizontal or vertically, in order to allow the reading of its pure form in the interior and therefore amplifying its essence.
